Dear Up and Coming Comic Writer,
I was 30 years old when I first got published.
I actually made a goal because I was having my first kid. I needed to prove to myself anything is possible and I DID IT!
I’m 38 and I've been published in at least 17 anthologies. Last year, I ran a Kickstarter with
, Matthew Summo, and Mario Candelaria. If you want to start writing and break into comics, you don’t need to put an age on when you “want” to get published. If you want to be published, you need to finish your script!
You can be in yours 20s.
You can be in yours 30s
You can be in yours 40s.
You can be in yours 50s.
was 58! was 46! was 47!Anything is possible, but you need to fail over and over. Please remember this journey isn’t supposed to be an easy.
If you have a goal, I want you to write it down and tape it to a location you will see every day. Then I want you to write down your next steps.
Don't go for the grand slam. Go for the single. Maybe take the bunt.
You got this, but remember, you have to finish your story in order to get published.
Remember to write it down, tape it down, and do the work!
