Writers invest time in creating a writing family
“Writers” think about their stories and never actually finish a script.
Writers want to tell bold stories.
“Writers” chase distractions.
Don't be a “writer” and invest in yourself.
Your time is valuable.
Your talent deserves nurturing.
Your dreams are worth fighting for.

It's great to have dreams of writing for the Big 2. They remind us not to give up when our publishing journey gets difficult. Not sure if you've seen Writer Jim Zub's tweet, but he recently reminded creators to embrace their own agency, and publish their own their characters and stories. Unless you work in Hollywood, a popular prose writer, and a nepo baby/friend, you need to build your own door into comics.
How do you break in? Start with anthologies.
How do you get involved with anthologies? Search on X, FB, and Threads for other creators that want to start writing. It's the perfect opportunity to create your writing family. Here's the FB comic anthology group: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1BKKUw5Q2S/?mibextid=K35XfP
Have you heard of The Comic Jam? Creators vote on a theme and collaborate on a 1 page story: https://x.com/thecomicjam?s=21
